The total value of pangasius exports to the US market reached $91.8 million as of the first half of April 2018. This is an increase of 26.1% year on year. Vietnamese pangasius accounts for 90% of the total pangasius imports of the US.

Vietnam’s pangasius exports to the US market increased because of the higher prices of domestic raw materials. However, there are still two major difficulties for Vietnamese pangasius companies when exporting to the US: the anti-dumping tariffs and the catfish inspection program.
